Sunset Home

Sunset Home is a lakefront senior care home in San Juan Cosala, Mexico. It is the only retirement home in the Lake Chapala area that is right by the lake. It has 24/7 care, nursing, an on-call doctor, weekly medical checkups, and meals personalized for special diets and medical restrictions. Pricing runs from 40,000 to 48,000 MXN per month, depending on level of care.

Sunset Home has capacity for five residents, with three private rooms and a bigger shared room, perfect for a couple. The bathrooms have safety rails and handrails, and toilet seat risers available for residents who need them. There are gardens, a patio and terrace, a shared lounge with television, and scenic views. Pets are also welcome.

This retirement home lets residents age in place. Residents who still drive have a carport and come and go as they please, using the home for meals, housekeeping, laundry and company. In the same house, residents who need help getting to the bathroom, wound care, medication management or personal hygiene receive it from licensed and auxiliary nurses. A resident can arrive independent and stay as their needs change, without the upheaval of moving again.

Sunset Home sits in San Juan Cosalá, on the western stretch of the Riviera de Chapala, directly facing the lake from one side, and with mountain view on the other side. San Juan Cosalá is known for its thermal springs and quiet pace, about twenty minutes west of Ajijic. For retirees in the Lake Chapala area not ready for a move into assisted living, Sunset Home also provides bilingual care in your own home, with either auxiliary or licensed nurses depending on what you need.
