About This Community

Picture eight private rooms wrapped around a garden pool, in one of the calmest neighborhoods of Ajijic, with the cafes, shops, and the bike lane only a short walk away. That is Casa Zoe Community, a small independent and assisted living community in La Floresta, Ajijic. Each of the ten rooms has its own bathroom and opens onto the water and the garden, so the pool sits right at the center of daily life.

The rooms are spacious and easy to settle into. Some come with extra closet space, others with a wardrobe, and residents make them their own. Daily life here is about comfort rather than clinical care: home-cooked meals are prepared in the kitchen at the back of the house, and basic housekeeping and laundry are included, so the small chores that wear people down are quietly handled.

What sets this retirement community apart is the setting. La Floresta is one of the most walkable residential areas of Ajijic, and the house has two entrances that make the most of it. The main entrance sits inside the neighborhood, with a garage for residents who still drive. A second, smaller entrance opens directly onto the main road, the ciclovía, and the cafes, restaurants, and shops of Ajijic, so residents can walk or bike into the village whenever they like.

At the back of the property there is a wellness area with a sauna and a dedicated yoga room, where yoga, tai chi, and similar classes are offered as add-ons for residents who want to stay active. The pool, the garden, and the shared spaces give the house a calm, resort-like feel without losing the warmth of a real home.
Casa Zoe Community is also pet friendly. Small, well-behaved pets are welcome after a conversation with the managers, and the house already has its own animals: a resident cat and the managers’ dog, both part of daily life here.

For North American retirees comparing independent living and assisted living around Lake Chapala, Casa Zoe Community offers something specific: a walkable, pool-centered community in Ajijic, close to everything, with meals and light support handled, and a higher level of nursing care available at Casa Zoe Care if needs ever change.
