Assisted Living and Memory Care in Serena Center Las Palmas
The residence supports older adults with limited independence or total dependency, including those who need assistance with bathing, mobility, toileting and other daily activities. Specialized care is available for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Both temporary and permanent stays are available. Before admission, the team assesses each prospective resident’s condition and daily care needs to determine an appropriate care plan. Assessments can be conducted in person or virtually, although an in-person evaluation allows for a more accurate quotation.

Rooms and Facilities
Serena Center Tijuana Las Palmas occupies two levels connected by an elevator. Rooms have private bathrooms, with some featuring private patios and others overlooking the gardens.
In September 2019, the residence expanded with 10 additional rooms and a special care ward. This area includes a recreational terrace, spaces for visitors, a second nursing station, a kitchen and an art room.
The residence also has a dedicated day centre, which opened in spring 2018 under the direction of Dr. Sarai Barajas, providing psychological care and activities for older adults.
Nursing and Medical Support
Licensed nurses and nursing assistants provide daily care, supported by 24-hour nursing services and weekly physician visits. Medical oversight includes supervision by geriatrician Dr. Clemente Zúñiga Gil.
Care services include medication administration, assistance with personal hygiene, post-operative recovery, dementia care and support for residents with different levels of dependency. Additional medical follow-up with a physician is available for approximately $80 USD every three months.
The residence uses the Serena Guardian System to record residents’ vital signs, mood, medications, care plans, food intake and socialisation.
Security measures include controlled access, 24-hour video surveillance and an internal civil protection programme. Staff also receive ongoing training in first aid and emergency response.
Meals and Daily Activities
Residents receive three meals a day plus snacks. The nutrition team monitors residents’ dietary needs and works with kitchen staff led by Chef Ernesto González to prepare meals according to individual requirements and preferences.
Physical and cognitive activities take place Monday through Friday, including stretching, exercise, drawing, painting, memory games, lotería and dominoes.
The residence’s day centre, SerenaDayCare by Gerontropia, also provides individual and group activities, including yoga, Tai Chi, art therapy and Gerogym. Families can enquire about available schedules.
Transportation and Additional Assistance
Serena offers wheelchair-accessible transportation through SerenaVan, equipped with a hydraulic lift. Transportation and accompaniment can be arranged for medical appointments, shopping, family visits and other outings.
Cross-border transportation is also available, including drivers with SENTRI passes for appointments arranged 48 hours in advance.
The optional SerenaAid programme allows families to arrange assistance with medication purchases, errands and medical appointments through a revolving expense fund.
Residents receive Serena Full Assistance Card membership throughout their stay, providing access to assistance services and discounts with participating providers in Baja California.
In-Home Care and Other Services
Beyond residential care, Serena offers in-home nursing services through Serena Living. Support includes personal care, medication administration, post-operative recovery, dementia care and accompaniment, with shifts ranging from four to 24 hours.
Serena also offers temporary stays and day care services for older adults who need short-term support or structured activities during the day.
Families should confirm which additional services are available directly at Tijuana Las Palmas and whether separate arrangements or fees apply.
Monthly prices start at approximately $38,083 MXN, depending on the room selected and the resident’s required level of care.
