Living in Community

Living in Community is a small independent living community in Riberas del Pilar, a quiet lakeside neighborhood near Ajijic and Chapala.

Residents live in one of ten private apartments that range from studios to two-bedroom units. Each home is fully furnished with its own kitchen and either a balcony, patio, or yard.

Breakfast and dinner are included from Monday to Saturday, and residents can take meals in the shared dining room or in their own apartment. Most choose the dining room for the company.

Life at Living in Community is social by choice. It’s a well-traveled, close-knit group, and they look out for one another: if someone misses a meal, neighbors will check in or ask the managers to make sure everything is okay. The community is also pet friendly, with cats and friendly dogs considered on a case-by-case basis.

Beyond the pool, the property offers a library and game room, a weight room, lush gardens, and shaded parking. There’s a freight elevator to the second floor for hauling up heavy groceries or furniture, though it isn’t for passenger use. Housekeeping, cable TV, high-speed internet, and utilities are included in the monthly cost, and laundry service is available as an add-on.
