Colibri Blue

Colibri Blue is the memory care home of Colibri Residences, the same family-run team behind Colibri Orange in Ajijic. It sits in San Juan Cosalá, a small lakeside village about fifteen minutes west of Ajijic on the north shore of Lake Chapala. With room for only five residents, the home is built around personal, unhurried care rather than the scale and routine of a large institution.

It is designed for seniors living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia who do best in a secure, structured, and gentle setting. The staff is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, the home provides assisted living and around-the-clock nursing support, and a private hospital is roughly five to fifteen minutes away for anything more urgent.

Because it is so small, daily life stays calm and familiar, with the same faces caring for the same handful of residents. And since Colibri also runs a home for more independent seniors nearby (Colibri Orange), families have a trusted place to turn to as a loved one’s needs change over time.
